What I Help With

I specialize in trauma-informed therapy for adults dealing with anxiety, depression, PTSD, complex trauma, and mood disorders. If you've experienced trauma, whether recent or from your past—I create a safe space where healing can happen.

My work is always trauma-informed, meaning I understand how past experiences shape your present and I create a safe container for healing. I recognize that trauma isn't just in your mind as it lives in your body, too.

My 3 Core Specialties

1. Trauma & PTSD

Working with survivors of childhood trauma, complex trauma, PTSD, and traumatic experiences. Trauma affects everyone differently, and there's no "right way" to heal.

2. Anxiety & Depression

Helping adults who experience anxiety primarily as physical symptoms like racing heart, tight chest, difficulty breathing. We'll address both the mental and physical aspects of anxiety.

3. Relationship Therapy

Support for relationship stress, conflict, and communication challenges. Haley helps clients strengthen boundaries and develop coping tools (including grounding and DBT-informed skills) to support healthier connection.

I also help with...
  • Grief & Loss: Processing loss and finding meaning after tragedy
  • Mood & Thought Disorders Support: Complex psychological concerns (including schizophrenia and mood disorders)
  • Self-Esteem: Building confidence and self-worth
  • Life Transitions: Navigating major changes and identity shifts

My Approach to Therapy

I take an empathic, compassionate approach using feminist and person-centered counseling. I believe that regardless of its size, we're living in a world that adds trauma and hurt to our journeys—and these things don't often have space to be released.

"Your body remembers what your mind tries to forget."

My work is always trauma-informed, meaning I understand how past experiences shape your present and I create a safe container for healing.

I incorporate grounding skills, meditation, and somatic-based interventions to help you regulate emotionally and physically. Depending on what you need, I draw from motivational interviewing, narrative therapy, CBT, DBT, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and body-based approaches.

Therapy Approaches I Use

  • Trauma-Informed Care: Creating safety and trust in the therapeutic relationship
  • Somatic/Body-Based Interventions: Understanding how emotions and trauma live in your physical body
  • Internal Family Systems (IFS): Working with different parts of yourself to find healing
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): Identifying and changing unhelpful thought patterns
  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT): Skills for emotional regulation and distress tolerance
  • Mindfulness & Meditation: Grounding techniques to stay present
  • Narrative Therapy: Rewriting the stories you tell yourself
  • Feminist Therapy: Understanding how societal factors impact mental health
  • Person-Centered Therapy: Honoring your autonomy and expertise on your own life

Professional Background & Education

I hold a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Illinois.

Before becoming a therapist, I was a professional dancer and choreographer. This background gives me a unique understanding of how emotions live in the body and how movement can be part of healing. If traditional "talk therapy" hasn't worked for you, my somatic approach might be what you need.

I've worked in community mental health settings, including the Anixter Center in Chicago, where I supported clients with serious mental health conditions. I received the Distinguished Graduate award for my clinical work and commitment to serving underserved populations.
